As the Coordinator of Early Childhood Education, Ms. Forde brings more than 40 years of experience in early childhood education to the South East Bronx Neighborhood Center where she has worked for 25 years.
As the Director of the Gwendolyn Bland Center, named after Gwendolyn Bland the original director; Ms. Forde helped the Center become one of the first day care centers in the Bronx to receive a library from the Books for Kids Foundation. The Bland Center was also recognized as an “Outstanding Day Care Center” the NYC Agency for Children’s Services.
In her current position as the Coordinator for Early Childhood Education, Ms. Forde oversees SEBNC’s 3 day care centers serving more than 220 children. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Fordham University and a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Adelphi University. She also has a certificate in Special Education, Administration and Supervision from Fordham.
A strong believer in the importance of day care programs as the foundation for preschoolers’ education as providing a wealth of information so that children can be at their best and have an eagerness to learn.
Her motto is “We strive for academic excellence on a daily basis”.
