|Doreen MyleCoordinator of Developmental Disabilities Services|
Before beginning her career at SEBNC, Doreen Myles worked for 20 years as an educator in both the public and private education sectors in Jamaica. Doreen began teaching at the secondary level immediately after graduating from Teacher’s College and did so for six years before transferring to the elementary level where she worked for 14 years rising to the level as principal. Teaching is her passion and it is evident in everything that she does. Nearly every interaction that Doreen has with her colleagues, staff and individuals serves as an opportunity for learning.
Doreen was hired as a trainer for the developmentally disabled population of SEBNC in 2001. Her skills as a trainer and innovator were quickly recognized and within six years, Doreen was promoted to Coordinator of Developmental Disabilities Services. As the Coordinator, Doreen assumed responsibility for over 14 programs which served the population – including, but not limited to; residential homes, Medicaid Service Coordination, and 2 day habilitation programs.
Today, equipped with an MBA, Ms. Doreen Myles is the Associate Executive Director of Southeast Bronx Neighborhood Centers, Inc. where she continues to strive for excellence, not only from herself, but from her entire team.
“Eyes that look are many, eyes that see are rare” I enjoy working at SEBNC because the team sees the needs of our constituents. –Doreen Myles
